In today’s world, it is harder than ever to attract high quality job candidates. A majority of the modern day recruitment processes use pre-employment skill testing as an integral part of their hiring strategy. However, the catch here is getting candidates to give their assessments. Candidates, especially millennial find it too taxing to give an assessment test. The same is true for lateral hiring.  

Interview Mocha spoke to around 1000 candidates on what were the factors that enticed them to appear for an online exam and what were total turnoffs.

While the company reputation and branding played a huge factor, the test invitation emails were a huge drawback. Candidates expected the mails to be sleek, alluring, and not boring. Many of the recruiters also reported that an informal email content created empathy, was good to read, and more importantly enhanced candidate experience.
